The deep cyanic water was mesmerising and cold , there was a tumultuous up-roar of laughter and chatter among the children who were in the pool, my skin looked wrinkly and ancient from swimming in the pool for so long. It was the last day of Senior Camp. We were tired yet excited because for the whole day we were going to be swimming at the pools. I remember when Senior Camp was first announced. We were originally supposed to camp at Houhora Heads Holiday Park but due to supposed weather conditions, was cancelled and we had to have an “In School Camp”. Primarily I thought that the “In School Camp” was going to be fun and interesting plus it would also be a different experience. On the first night which was probably my favourite night there were parents helping us. The ones I remembered were Mr Richards , Mrs Mullholland, Mr Ty and Mr Dickinson and as expected all the senior class teachers. The first activity we did was sports rotations. My favourite sports rotation was Softball. I remember when it was my turn batting, I batted and they caught it on the fall. I was so disappointed l. On my second turn batting I did a perfect hit, the bat swung with a swoosh and hit the ball thump, as soon as I heard the thump I sprinted to first base, safe I heard Mr Richards say (Mr Richards was the parent referee for the game). My face blushed red with pride, my heart pounded merrily unluckily that did not last for long. When it was the next batter's turn to bat he batted successfully and I ran to 2nd base and he then ran for 2nd base I was pushed to third he ran to third base where I was pushed to 4 I then got out on last base I was gutted. But I got over it pretty (Well if you call thirty minutes quick). The next most interesting thing that happened that night was playing spotlight in the dark (spotlight is a game similar to hide and seek but played only in the dark with a torch and when you find them you have to shine a torch on them and say spotlight and their name). I was not found once in spotlight every time I hid. It was always in the same spot near the P.E shed and every time when I knew almost all other kids were found I ran to the back of the field to be even more hidden. When spotlight was over we went to bed. First we watched a movie called SpongeBob: Sponge On The Run 15 minutes later I was fast asleep. The next day we went to Maitai Bay. The first thing I wanted to do was swim in the water so I quickly put my togs on and dived into the water. The water was freezing yet I persevered and swam after an hour of swimming later I got out and got changed. After I got changed it started raining and I quickly hid under the gazebo. My bus was the last bus to come so I was wet and cold. The next day we went to the movies. The movie we watched was The War With Grandpa. I had already watched the movie. When we went inside the theatre there was still a while until the movie started. So we entertained each other by standing up on stage and booing each other off. Then after the movie ended we went home. After we came to school we immediately went to the pools, the deep cyanic water was mesmerising and cold , there was a tumultuous up-roar of laughter and chatter among the children who were in the pool. The deep pool was opened so bombs were done every 5 seconds after 4 hours of swimming in the pool we came out. My skin looked wrinkly and ancient from swimming in the pool for so long. After that I went home to my family and that was the story of my “2020 In School Senior Camp.
We are a year 7 & 8 class from Pompallier Catholic School. My teacher is Whaea Danni.

Radical Raps
This week in Te Kahu class we have been creating songs/raps. We did this task in groups, the people in my group was Cordell, Fynn, Raidon and me. The most challenging aspect was coming up with a beat because there was no beat we could find that matched our song but at lats we chose a beat made by Cordell. The most fun part was singing our song it sounded awesome. Our song turned out exactly as planned from every lyrical note to every beat it was perfect. My group worked well with each other we collaborated nicely we talked and communicated and we thought outside the box. Now without further ado here is our song. Unfortunately I cannot upload the song directly so here are the lyrics and the beat.
Fashion Collage
This week in Te Kahu class we crated a collage of different Fashion outfits. My favourite fashion accessory is sunglasses. They make you look cool while protecting you from the sun. My favourite type of sunglasses are aviator glasses they just look so cool.

Term 4 Week 2
What did I enjoy this week? One thing I enjoyed this week was having Miss Lawless run the week. It was so interesting having a different teacher and doing things different for a change.
What was one success I have had and why? One success I had was my emotions wheel. It was an interesting activity to do. I worked super hard on it and it looks wonderful.
What is something that I found challenging and why? One thing I found challenging is doing the lyrics task( a task where we literally make lyrics for a song). I have pretty good idea's for a song but what makes it hard is that I have to work in a group and everyone in my group has different ideas of there own
What is one thing I have learned? One thing learned this week is how to make a Bar And Whisker Graph. It is super easy and Miss Lawless revealed to us that... creating a bar and whisker graph is what a level 5 would do which is a whole level higher than what we are supposed to do.
What is something I am looking forward to next week? Something I am looking forward to next week is doing more cool and interesting contract activities.
How have I shown the value of Aroha this week? I have shown the value of aroha this week by all round loving and caring to others and being caring to my friends.

Term 4 Week 1 Reflection
What was one think I enjoyed this week ? The thing I enjoyed most this week was training with Whaea Morganna. Yesterday Whaea Morganna came in and taught us a bit of athletics skills I had so much fun we even played a game called planes. In planes the are four corners two people go to one corner each corner and try to hit the others with who are in the centre of the four cornered square while one person calls out different movements the others have to do. If the people in the middle of the square is hit then they have to go to corner that the hitters are not in and stay there for the rest of the round.
What one success I had and why ? One success I had was in my recount narrative "The Art of a Splash War" if you want to check it out it is on my blog. I worked hard on it. It took me three days to write and in that three days I put so much effort into it.
What is something I found challenging and why ? This week I found nothing challenging It was a smooth running week the only thing that probably was hard was that fact that this week flew by like a race car which made me work faster and made me stressed.
What is one thing I have learned this week ? One thing I have learned this is about the Māori culture. A few facts I learned is that Māori is not what Māori originally called themselves they originally called themselves Tangata Whenua meaning "People of The Land" Māori actually means "The People of Enlightenment" and was given to them by Pakeha. In fact Pakeha comes from the word Pakehakeha which were also called "People of The Mist" which came to Aoetearoa before any Māori. The Pakehakeha came out at night but sometimes they came out in light but only if there were some fog to hide them.
What is something I am looking forward to next week? Something I am looking forward to next week is learning more fact about the Maori people from Miss Lawless. I want to learn all about the people of Aotearaoa and the history of the land which I stand and live on.
How have I showed the value of pono this week? I have shown the value of pono this week is by being honest and true to myself and others.
The Arts
For this term our main focus will been on the arts. The task Whaea Danni gave us this week was fairly easy. The task was to give our own definition for each and every art on the following slide. Here is the slide.

What is Media?
This week In Cyber Smart we have been focusing on media. My understanding of media was news and that was all I really understood but when Whaea Donna came she told us about the three types of media. For the activity we did a slide deck all on media here is my work. Now I have a question to ask you, what does media mean to you? tell me in the comments below.
The Art of a Splash War
This is a recount of a major event in my holiday enjoy.
On Wednesday I woke up before anyone else in my house with great reason to do so. Since the penultimate week of school my family have been planning to go out of town. The original place we were going to go was Napier. The main reason being that there was a water park there called Splash Planet.
But that was not really the reason why I woke up so early the real reason was to go to the Library. So on the first Monday of the school holidays I went to the local library to feed my latest book fixation, Des Hunt books. As I got my book I noticed a piece of paper with a black background filled with bright red rockets and little yellow stars. On it was a date, and it had two arts and craft activities. The activities were a rocket corner bookmark and a melted crayon planet. It piqued my interest. Both of them were on a Wednesday.
So on Wednesday I woke up to a cloudy and brilliant blue sky. I set out by bike to the Library where I was surprised to find out that it was only two people doing the D.I.Y. I was also pleasantly surprised to find out that we would also be doing origami. After the rocket corner bookmark D.I.Y session I went home to find that my family was not even ready for the trip yet.
After forty-five minutes of getting ready, we were out of the house and on the open road. We took the Kerikeri route (the longest way) because the Mangamuka route (the shortest route) was closed due to landfalls. The scenery through the was Mangamuka was usually the best but there were still some excellent sites at state highway 10. There were cows with white skin and galaxy-like black spots grazing on green grass, mooing merrily without a care in the world.
But there was one thing that made that trip bad: my employment dilemma. The dilemma I asked myself was what I wanted to be when I grew up and what if I failed to get there. When I wasn't thinking about it I was sleeping and I was asleep more times than I was awake, lucky me.
When we got to Whangarei we immediately parked at the Whangarei Aquatic Center which was the number one thing me and my sister Evania wanted to do. I wanted to go there to go on the water slides but sadly they were closed. When we got to the pools I quickly changed and then speedily stroded to the main pool. Where I greeted the others I then put my goggles on my head and my swim bag in a cubby. The water in the pools was a clear crystal blue. I then went to the heated kiddie pool. I had some complications with my goggles so I gave them to my dad and then hopped into the cold big kids pool then I swam to the whirlpool pool only to get punched in the face.
It happened very suddenly. I was wading through the clear blue water heading to the whirlpool pool when I reached the pool. I was then blinded by the splash of water in my eyes then I felt the heavy and powerful fist in my face. I then fell back. An 11 year old girl had punched me in the face and in defence I splashed her with water. She went ballistic and she said that you should not hurt girls and started smacking me with water and telling her siblings to do the same. So in the spirit of war I splashed them to clash with their splashing so that I would not be blinded by the water. Which obviously made her combust. She yelled at me “how dare you hit me and my young siblings who do you think you are? I am only 9 ! ” Yeah she lied about her age. She then slapped me and waded away.
Later I went to the spa pool where to my luck she and her annoying siblings were there and as soon as I got in she told me to “get the heck out” she swore at me. She was incredibly rude and of course I denied her rude request. So then they started splashing me water again then to my fortunately I heard a voice saying to them stop. They poked their tongue out at me and then swam out. The person that spoke was a boy named Aston. He and I played for the next hour or so together. Soon me and my family left. On the way to our friend's house which we were going to stay at, I had a realisation of how lucky I am to have two great parents that care for me. I then went on to have a good holiday, well mostly good because the next day I hurt both of my wrists but otherwise it was a great holiday.

The Rusty Green Table: A Personification Story
I am sturdy, old and a bit rusty but I am supportive, kind and caring. As the late evening sun glistened in the sky, the children left I felt lonely, depressed and not needed, I enjoy their smiling and kind faces of the children they bring me joy. As the early morning sun tiredly smiled upon the rough court I opened my eyes to see the children lined up outside their faces filled with joy and merry without a care in the world. As they approached I felt wanted and needed their company filled my heart with joy. Now as they learn new things and create new things on top of me I feel loved and needed.

The Last Post of The Term
What was the highlight of the term ?
The highlight of the term for me was the matariki breakfast on Wednesday I got to eat a delicious breakfast and chat and bond with friends. We were served bacon, eggs, spaghetti, Toast, sausages, Milo and Juice. We each had to donate 2 dollars to the breakfast there was so much food that Kakapo had to finish it of.
What was your biggest challenge ?
My biggest challenge was getting my contract finished in time I stressed about it way more than I needed to but I always finished it sometimes with some lucky coincidence. One of the harder tasks was the self portrait task I am not gifted in art but I pulled it of.One of my favourite tasks was the Manutukutuku task where we made a Maori Kite It was hard at first but I am proud of how the kite turned out.
What was your greatest success?
My greatest success' were always in STEAM specifically the engineering part of STEAM it was a skill I never knew I had and it was fun to do succeed in STEAM for once. When I first found my skill it was in the Egg-Drop STEAM challenge where I worked with my partner Fynn we both worked really hard. The task was to build a contraption that can hold and protect an egg from falling and our contraption was a success.
What Is Something You Have Learned?
Over the term i have learned a lot but something i never knew was the two other stars of matariki
Hiwa-I-Te-Rangi and Pohutukawa Hiwa-I-Te-Rangi the star of wishes and Pohutukawa the star that connects people to the dead.I also learned about converting measurements but I still have not mastered it just yet. Something else I learned is a trick on how to divide three digit numbers but like with conversion i still have not mastered it.
What are you most looking forward to this weekend?
I am looking forward to relaxing because in lock-down I still had to work, Going to Whangarei and seeing the cool sites and tourist attractions and visiting my Uncles family. I want to relax because it has been and extremely fun term and I am exhausted with the amount of work I did. Even though Uncle's family lives extremely close we haven't visited often because my family has been extremely busy with our own activities.

Lockdown
What was your favourite part?
My favourite part of lockdown was spending time with my family and sleeping in.
What was the most challenging part?
What I found most challenging was the boredom it was extremely boring but that is not all we were planning a trip to Roturua but we had to cancel it.
What are the things you miss most?
The things I missed most is hanging out with my friends at school.
What are you excited about most when things go back to normal ?
The thing I am most excited to do is ride on the new equipment in the town park and to see my friends face to face.
And that is my reflection of my time during lockdown.
